Speaker Bio: Tim Bratton
Tim Bratton is COO of Personal Life Media, a loving husband and father, serial entrepreneur, pilot, kite boarder and surfer. Best known as the inventor of Rhapsody, Real Network's PC music service, Tim has 20 years experience in the tech industry and has spent the last 17 years in computers and digital audio and has three US patents.
In 1990, Tim started the company that sold the first mass-market 16-bit PC sound card, the "Pro Audio Spectrum 16". Then in the mid 90's he ran sales and marketing for Spatializer, a 3D sound processing company selling chips and algorithms to consumer electronics and PC companies, and pro audio great to artists and recording companies. In 1998 he started TuneTo.com and was at the forefront of Internet radio, offering personalized CD-quality streaming radio to Internet listeners.
In 2001 Tim sold TuneTo.com to Listen.com in a deal valued at over $25 million. At Listen.com Tim wore a number of hats including VP of Subscription Services and VP of Emerging Technology and was a key member of the team that sold Listen.com to Real Networks in 2003. Tim stayed on with Real Networks until 2005 when Rhapsody became the leading on-demand music subscription service with over one million subscribers.
