Speaker Bio: Stephen McCandless

Stephen McCandless is the founder of the production company Caution Zero Network.

Stephen has worked as an EMT, toured with the Flying Karamazov Brothers, and spent the last decade producing fringe theatre as the Managing Director of the legendary of Annex Theatre. The idea of "fringe television" came to him as he paced a darkened set, trying to come up with ways to capitalize the talents of the fringe while remaining in his beloved Seattle.

Caution Zero produces character-driven serials in scripted seasons. Their first project, "Cherub, the Vampire with Bunny Slippers", was targeted at the on-line fan-base of Joss Whedon and met with great success. September will see the release of "What the Funny", the most ambitious project yet.

Stephen sees a near-future where the independent film and fringe theatre scenes merge to produce "British-style Television" and challenge mainstream media on a field where YouTube is just another channel on your television, and social networks are the taste-makers of shattered media landscape.
