Kris Smith began podcasting for the Croncast show in 2004 with his wife Betsy. In early 2005, he also founded the first podcast production studio, Palegroove Studios Inc. - and eventually landed clients such as MTV Networks, Coors Light and Alltel. Kris wrote the first version of Castlock for managing an online subscription service using credit card processing and authenticated RSS feeds. He later modified his code into a full content management system for distributing podcasts and secure RSS feeds.
