Dr. Joselyn J. Todd received her Ph.D. degree in molecular genetics after completing her B.S. degree in Science Secondary Education from the University of Illinois. In 1998, after completing a three year NSF/USDA/DOE Fellowship at North Carolina State University, she returned to her love of teaching science as she joined the faculty at Cary Academy (CA), an independent, college-preparatory school.
As a senior faculty member, Dr. Todd is the M.S. Science Department Chair and has recently implemented an innovative program called Advances in Medical Technology that focuses on medical technologies associated with cardiovascular disease. Over the past 9 years at CA, Dr. Todd has participated in NSF-NSTA WebWatchers Program and has educated over one hundred NC teachers in Cary Academy's Summer Technology Institute. She was recently awarded Sigma Xi Outstanding Teacher Award for Science and Mathematics Teachers and a Leading Edge Award from the National Association of Independent Schools.
